Charles Cuvelier answers an ad for a luxury apartment to
rent - "suitable for a single professional man without a dog". He is
a 50 year old highly successful advertising executive, he understands better
than most how to juggle with people's desires, dreams and frustrations, but a
small insignificant event is sufficient to destroy his life. He finds himself
trapped in a rift between the third and fourth floors of the building. This
"technical fault" has in fact been planned by a beautiful, mysterious
woman who lives in one of the apartments. The woman, who refuses to gain help
for Charles, begins to play a dark and mysterious game with him. Day after day
after day he is spied on, manipulated and mentally tormented by the woman. He
must fight back in order to survive, but finds that all his clever words and
persuasive powers are useless. Will he lose the game and his identity wit it,
or will she, who appears to be the manipulator, end up being the manipulated
one?
